Ron Stimmel is an Operating Partner at Ara where he brings expertise in corporate and product strategy, partnerships, and public policy within the energy and ClimateTech sectors.
Previously, Ron spent ten years at Amazon where he was the company’s first “energy hire.” There he started most of the company’s renewable energy program which now spans wind, solar, fuel cells, low-carbon fuels, and other technologies, and is among the largest worldwide. He also started the company’s Energy Partnerships vertical within Corporate Business Development, and created teams to innovate within carbon-capture (CCUS) and other areas of decarbonization.
Ron started his career as a federal lobbyist for the U.S. wind energy industry, focusing on tax, budget appropriations, and other issues.
He earned a BA in Government from Georgetown University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
